| How
We Met... |
We were introduced by a mutual friend, Jerry,
in Matawan, NJ in the summer of ’85.
We dated that summer, but went our separate
ways at the end of August. He was leaving
for boot camp, and I was getting ready to
start school again. The following January
I moved to Austin, Tx. Unknown to me at
that time, Mike was living in Austin at
the same time. We had brief contact a few
times over the next few years. Three
years ago, I was doing a lot of research
online for college, and came across “Classmates”.
I signed up, and Jerry popped in to say
hi. We talked about Mike and how we all
just lost touch. I was thinking about
him often, and after thinking about it
for a few months I hired an online People
Search to find out where he was living.
I sent him a Christmas Card and a few
weeks later we had our first conversation
in over a decade. Over the next few months
sparse coversations turned into long daily
conversations. I found myself thinking
about him all the time. In September we
had our first face to face contact in
over a decade. That weekend was the most
amazing time. We went kayaking, swimming,
shopping, watched movies, cooked together.
I knew there was no turning back. We were
meant to be together. I went back to Florida
again the next month and it was so comfortable
being with him. After that visit, Mike
decided he was moving north, to be with
me. |
| The
Engagement... |
Neither one of us can remember or pinpoint
a date of engagement. We just talked about
it over a few months, and then decided
to start the planning.
We just decided
it was right, we picked a date, and told
our family. He didn’t have to ask
me because we both knew all along we would
be husband and wife. It was just a matter
of when. The magical thing about it is
we were meant to be. Through life we kept
crossing paths. Fate was just waiting
for us to realize we are meant to be. |
