Situated on the beautiful
grounds of the Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort,
the Tillinghast Approach Course offers 9 par
3 holes of varying length. Our approach course
offers the novice golfer an opportunity to
build confidence and develop their game, while
providing the more experienced golfer a chance
to improve their short game skills.
Lighted for night play, the 9 holes at the
approach course is a good plan for an after
dinner or early evening activity. 6 of the
9 holes are located throughout the driving
range, while the other three holes are part
of the Tillinghast Golf Academy and used
for lessons and schools concentrating on
short game instruction. Each of the nine holes are modeled after
the greens and bunkering from other famous
A.W. Tillinghast designed golf courses including
the San Francisco Golf Club, Winged Foot
and Baltusrol. The approach course will not have advanced
tee times. Tee times wil be based on a first
come, first serve basis.

Approach Course Dress Code:
The Shawnee Inn
and Golf Resort requires country club appropriate
attire. Golfers are permitted to wear Bermuda-length
shorts and collared shirts are required.
Golf shoes must be soft spiked. Golfers may
not wear jeans or denim of any color, jogging
attire or running shorts.

Rules of the Approach Course:

Each player is required to have their
own set of clubs. Club rental is available
at a nominal fee!

Pace of play: Please keep up with those
in front of you.

Wait for the group in front of you to
clear the green before you tee off.

No glass bottles permitted on the course.
