How
We Met... |
We met on Labor Day weekend 2005 at a barbeque.
My friend Lori invited me to hang out with
her and her new in-laws for the weekend.
Chad was invited by his friend Mike to a
barbeque for the same weekend. Mike is Lori’s
new brother-in-law and all three of us were
on Student Senate together in college. When
I first arrived, Mike told me one of his
fraternity brothers was coming to the party
too. (I remembered Chad from college. Someone
I always thought was cute but we never talked.)
A few hours later, Chad showed up. We spent
the rest of the night talking by the campfire.
The weekend ended and a few days later,
Chad emailed me saying that he had a nice
time talking with me. For a few weeks we
emailed back and forth until we decided
to go out on our first date. We met in Reading,
PA for lunch and shopping. After that we
spent as much time as we could together. |

Engagement...

For Labor Day weekend 2007, Chad arranged
for my parents to come and spend the day
with his family at his parents’ lake
house. I was really excited because it would
be the first time the parents were meeting
each other. I went up a few days ahead of
time to hang out with Chad before the big
get together. We were planning to spend
the night in relaxing. Chad knew I had a
long drive and offered to give me a shoulder
rub, so of course I took him up on it. During
the massage he was talking about how we
met two years ago and how he felt about
me. I was barely listening, enjoying my
massage, when I noticed he got down next
to me on his knees. I remember him saying,
I want to spend the rest of my life with
you and he then opened the box to show me
my beautiful ring. I said yes! We went out
to dinner that night to celebrate. My parents
and my sister came up on Sunday to continue
the celebration with the new in-laws!! It
was great! |
